Where Brass Is Used in North American Manufacturing

Brass is used on terminals where machining or higher strength matters more than conductivity: threaded studs, ring terminals, ground points, and the larger power terminals in a distribution box. It stamps and machines more cleanly than high-conductivity copper and costs less, at a conductivity penalty that is irrelevant on a part sized by mechanical load rather than by current.
