Powersports body panel bondDOMINANT
Two-part methacrylate dominates powersports panel bonding for one reason above all others: it bonds molded thermoplastic and SMC panels with essentially no surface preparation, which is exactly the problem a bonded body panel presents. The panels come out of a mold with release agent on them, they are not going to be washed and primed on a line running a machine every few minutes, and the bond has to be structural because it is replacing the fasteners that used to hold the panel on. Fasteners are being designed out because a visible screw head on a side by side reads as cheap, and styling drives that decision rather than engineering. Methacrylate is what makes it possible at line rate.
Thread locking compoundDOMINANT
Anaerobic threadlocker is a standard line item at every powersports assembly plant on the continent, and the reason is vibration. A single cylinder ATV, a snowmobile track drive and a V-twin motorcycle all produce exactly the frequency and amplitude that walks a fastener loose, and there is no torque spec that fixes it. Threadlocker is applied at assembly to suspension, driveline, brake and engine fasteners, it is specified by grade on the drawing, and the grade choice is a serviceability decision rather than a strength one: a fastener that a dealer will have to remove gets a medium grade, and one that must never come out gets a high grade. Loctite is close to a generic term for this product in the powersports plants, which is a brand position built over decades of being on the drawing.

Methacrylate appears where the glazing frame itself is bonded rather than welded, and on accessory and low-volume cab assemblies where the fixture cost of a polyurethane glazing cell cannot be justified. It is not a mainstream glazing adhesive and it is not trying to be; it is on this row because the assembly around the glazing is bonded with it.
RV Interior Bonding

Methacrylate is the seam adhesive on solid surface countertops and is what makes an invisible joint possible: it is color-matched, it machines and sands like the sheet it joins, and it is strong enough that the seam is not the weak point. In a galley that is three or four feet of counter with a sink cut into it, that seam is in the most looked-at place in the coach, and a visible one reads as cheap construction regardless of what the rest of the unit cost.

Methacrylate is the premium substitution argument and it is made almost entirely on surface preparation. The gelcoated or continuous-cast FRP skin arrives with mold release and process residue on it, and a polyurethane bond to a contaminated surface is the most common root cause of a delamination claim that is not a coverage problem. Methacrylate tolerates that contamination by design, which is why it owns the equivalent bond in marine. It loses in RV on cost per square foot and on odor in a plant that is not set up to ventilate it, and it will keep losing until someone prices a single delamination campaign against the chemistry delta.

Methacrylate appears on floor decks where the facing is a hard-to-bond thermoplastic composite rather than lauan, which is the direction the industry is moving for rot reasons. That substrate change is what opens the door: a polyurethane that worked on plywood does not automatically work on a polypropylene-faced honeycomb, and rather than re-qualify a primer the plant buys a chemistry that does not need one. This is the clearest example in the report of a substrate decision dragging an adhesive decision behind it.
